Introverted Sensing, or ‘Si’, is a perceiving function that’s often correlated with prudence and tradition.
- It’s the primary function of ISTJs and ISFJs
- It’s the auxiliary function of ESTJs and ESFJs
- It’s the tertiary function of INTPs and INFPs
- It’s the inferior function of ENTPs and ENFPs
Si catalogs sensory information and orients to what is most consistent and reliable.
When Si is used in a mature way, it considers new information as part of a flexible and evolving understanding of the world. People using introverted sensing in this way will tend to appear tolerant and agreeable.
When Si is used in an immature way, it reject new information and adopts a rigid position. People using introverted sensing in this way can appear overly fearful and unstable.
