Extraverted Thinking, or ‘Te’, is a judging function that’s often correlated with efficiency & effectiveness.
- It’s the primary function of ESTJs and ENTJs
- It’s the auxiliary function of ISTJs and INTJs
- It’s the tertiary function of ESFPs and ENFPs
- It’s the inferior function of ISFPs and INFPs
Te evaluates information based on logical, externally-verifiable objectives.
When Te is used in a mature way, it considers ethics and is attuned to the personal needs of others. People using extraverted thinking in this way will tend to behave and be received as respected leaders.
When Te is used in an immature way, it loses sight of the bigger picture in pursuit of desired outcomes. People using extraverted thinking in this way can appear overly aggressive and lacking in empathy.
